Are you ready to meet the new Wapuu design for this year’s WordCamp Manila?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re excited to announce that our beloved Wapuu, is getting a new design for WordCamp Manila 2023! We’ve been working hard on this update for a while now, and we can’t wait to share it with the WordPress community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We know that WordCamp won’t be complete without our Wapuu. We can’t wait to see the look on your faces when you see the new Wapuu for the first time. We know you’re going to love them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before we delve into the new Wapuu design, let’s take a quick look at the history of Wapuu. Wapuu is the official mascot of WordPress, and its name is a playful combination of “WordPress”<\/strong> and “U”<\/strong> (for “us” in the community). It was created in 2011 by Japanese WordPress community members and quickly gained popularity for its cute and friendly appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wapuu was designed with the intention of being customizable, allowing each WordCamp to create its own unique version to represent its local WordPress community. This customization has made Wapuu a beloved symbol of unity and diversity within the global WordPress community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
